Fellowship - We are a people who are grateful that God has placed us together in one spiritual body to help us thrive and accomplish His purposes in this world.

Fulfilling the Great Commission - We are a people who are committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ, both locally and globally.

Our Beliefs:

We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible. This inerrant revelation from God is our only authority for faith and conduct.

We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that every man by nature, because of his sin, is under the wrath of God and justly condemned to hell.

We believe that God in His love offered His divine son, Jesus Christ, as the only acceptable sacrifice for sin. Through His blood sinful man may again be restored to eternal fellowship with God.

We believe that salvation comes to individuals by grace through faith and instrumentality of the Holy Spirit, completely apart from human merit and works.

We believe that Christ has instituted the local church for the instruction and fellowship of Christians and the evangelization of the world.

We believe in the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ, at which time He will establish His earthly kingdom.

Joel Klase

Lead Pastor

Pastor Joel served as our Youth Pastor for 7 years before transitioning into the role of Senior Pastor in July, 2019. Joel was blessed to have many godly influences on his life ever since he was a child. He has also had the privilege of completing his B.S. in Bible (Pastoral Ministry emphasis) from Lancaster Bible College and his M.Div. in Pastoral Ministry from Missio Theological Seminary. Joel has a passion for proclaiming God’s Word and for coming alongside others to help them get to where God wants them to be. He and his wife, Ellie, have been married since July of 2018.

David Zettlemoyer

Youth and Young Adults Director

David grew up in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania. He was homeschooled and is the oldest of six fun-loving siblings. After high school, he attended Cairn University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies. David is now pursuing a Master’s of Divinity at Cairn. A few of David's passions are beaches and board games, dogs and dodgeball, the Phillies and the Patriots. God has given David a heart for loving and leading others to follow Jesus Christ, and it is his joy to accomplish this mission at Bethany, Hatfield, and beyond.

Linda Hanes

Secretary

Linda started attending Bethany in 2001 and has been our secretary since 2014. She also serves in our Women’s Ministry and other areas at Bethany. Linda was born in Philadelphia and when she was 11 her parents and siblings relocated to Pennsburg where she graduated from Upper Perk H.S. Linda and her husband Mike live in Hatfield. She enjoys being creative whether it is with photography, making jewelry or crocheting and knitting as well as spending time with her husband and their 3 grown sons. She feels blessed to experience Biblical teaching, worship, and fellowship in the community at Bethany BFC.
